The Aluminum Tree
The iconic tree of the 50's! Our very first vintage aluminum Christmas tree, I could not be more ecstatic. My dad has a couple silver ones, and just got a green one! I have admired his since I first saw them! I now finally have gotten one of my own.
I found my 6 foot tree by just a random visit to eBay. I have wanted one for some time, but they have not had any at any local antique stores and before on eBay that had always been pretty pricey. I happened to look through eBay, and found my now aluminum tree for the right price!
As most of you may have experienced before, the wait for something to get in from the mail! My package was delayed, and it seemed like forever, but my tree finally arrived.
I did not want to put just any ornaments on my aluminum tree, so the search began. At local thrift and antique stores I was lucky enough to find vintage Shiny Brite ornaments for just a few dollars. Having done research on them, they were popular in the 40s-50s.
Aluminum Trees are not a normal tree that you can string lights on. To show off your tree the best is with a color wheel. My dad got me one knowing my Aluminum Tree was on the way.
The Aluminum Tree being so reflective looks so shiny and colorful changing from green, red, blue, to orange.
