Homemade Cinnamon Rolls


2 1/4 teaspoons yeast

1 cup warm milk

1/2 cup sugar

1/3 cup softened butter

1 teaspoon salt

2 eggs

4 cups flour

1-2 tablespoons oil


1 cup brown sugar

2 1/2 - 3 tablespoons cinnamon

1/3 cup softened butter


1 stick (8 tablespoons) butter

1 1/2 cups powdered sugar

1/4 cup cream cheese

1/2 teaspoon vanilla

1/8 teaspoon salt


  1. For dough add yeast in warm milk till dissolved, in a standing mixer or large bowl.
  2. Stir in sugar, butter, salt, eggs, and flour. Knead in standing mixer with dough hook or by hand.  
  3. Oil a bowl and add dough flipping to both sides of dough. Cover with cloth and let rise until doubled in size about one hour.
  4. While dough is rising, mix brown sugar and cinnamon together in small bowl.
  5. After dough is risen preheat oven to 350 degrees F, and grease with butter a 9x13 pan.
  6. Roll out on lightly floured surface ruffly into a rectangle/oval. Spread butter over whole surface of dough. Add brown sugar and cinnamon mixture. 
  7. Roll the dough up from edge to edge, and slightly tuck under edges.
  8. With knife carefully slice into 12 rolls and add to prepared pan.
  9. Bake in oven for 18-20 minutes or until desired.
  10. While rolls are baking make icing by mixing all ingredients into standing mixer. Ice rolls when out of the oven and enjoy!
